fuel pressure regulator
95 civic
94 ls motor
450cc injectors
crower turbo cams and retainers ect.
stock everything else
tuned to 10psi only made 194hp
ok i paid someone to tune my car. i ran the FMU for about 2 days to work out any kinks in the motor since it was a fresh rebuild. i set the base timing and everything else to spec. installed a fuel pressure regulator that raised fuel pressure depending on boost..
i am sure this is just for a FMU setup
and the car ran good. i did hit boost just a few times to ensure everything ran good.(this is all before the tune)
now i have a chipped ecu for chrome
took it to the shop and they dyno tested it during the tune
instead of using the stock fuel pressure regulator they insisted on using the one that came with the FMU kit. i think its a 12-1 ratio
the car idles like **** after the tune and is sluggish while at lower RPM's. so i replaced the aftermarket fuel pressure regulator with the stock regulator and the idling got better but not great.
hooked up the virgin ecu and now it idles and drives great like it did before modifiying the engine.
so my question is should he have used the stock regulator and not messed with the regulator that came with the FMU setup?
(i am not driving the car now i was trying to figure out why my idle was screwed up) he told me it was not his tune so now i know different, i think it has to do with the aftermarket fuel regulator?
