`94 Prelude Si - Keeps cranking
Just yesterday I stopped at my mailbox to check the mail. I shut my car off to go get the mail and when I returned and tried to start my car, it was dead. I popped the hood to wiggle the battery cables as this would generally help. However, this time my car started trying to crank on it's own. I got in and turned the key to the on position and the car started up without me cranking it. I drove it home and tried to shut the car off but it just kept on cranking. I popped the hood and removed the battery cables to get the car to stop. Any thoughts on what this could be or how to stop it? I'd like to at least get my sunroof and window closed but I can't reconnect the battery because the car just keep on cranking.
Thanks in advance for any thoughts/suggestions.

How did it drive when you "drove it home"? Was the starter engaged the whole time?
Sounds like the ignition switch may be shorted to the start position. If you can get at the electrical connector behind the key switch, pull it off and see if the cranking stops.
