i have an 85 civic wagon. 1.5L carb - EW1. i notice when i shut it off after driving it ticks sounding like a spoon on a plate. anyone know what would cause this, i honestly have no idea. also, the rad fans runn all the time, the engine doesnt heat up very fast, what can i replace to fix that. any replys would be very helpfyl. haynes manuals and shop key have not helped me any. thanks.

seriously you need to provide a lot more info in order to get some help .

 

is this your first car? most "tick" when cooling down because the metal is contracting from after it was heated up. the exhaust that is.

 

My catalytic converter ticks like a ****. I think that's a good sign, if it's really loud, that your cat is running hot. Could be due your air/fuel mixture being off. Try to pinpoint where the noise is coming from. A lot of that noise is normal just cooling, but if it's excessive, try to figure out where it's coming from.
