Default Help with drag strip results... Edelbrock kit

So I took my EK out to see what it would do. It FEELS pretty damn strong on the street, I was hoping for at least some low 14's on 8psi. Here is a quick rundown on the setup.

D16Y8 with Vitara pistons, FJT custom length rods
otherwise stock engine wise, I notched the block, thats it.
Edelbrock turbo kit minus the intake manifold and injectors
550cc injectors
eCtune street tuned by me
Greddy Profec B boost controler
2.5" crush bent exhaust, no cat
stock Z6 tranny

So I left with a best run of 14.73 @ 96mph with a 2.48 60 ft. I would either blow the launch completely and bog or get it too high and spin like made through first. No matter what, I would spin all of second, usually drifting slighly into the other lane. By third I had solid traction. For 8psi, I suppose the trap speed isn't too terrible.. the thing I am questioning most if the power below sat 5k. The car is a COMPLETE dog. If I blow the launch, I am screwed. It seems to make 5-6psi by 3,500rpms. Its a Garrett T28 (according to Edelbrock) ball bearing turbo if this matters. I am currently working off stock B16 timing maps and have tuned the fuel on the street. The car seems VERY strong on the higher end, but according to the track isn't. Am I missing something here? Should this thing be a complete dog out of boost from the **** poor compression? I have seen some good times from this Edelbrock setup, but high 14's on psi blows.

how much power are you making. they say every .1 you shave off your 60ft is usually .2 off your ET. so if you cut a 2.1 60ft high 13's. invest in some tires. get some drag radials

no offense but your on 8lbs what were your expectations? honestly?

On 8psi with a Greddy 19T in my EG hatch I was doing 14.0 @ 102mph. I was hoping to at LEAST be in the lower 14's. I honestly have NO idea what I am making for power. I had a GSR setup in this exact same chassis. It dyno'd 180whp N/A and ran low 14's at 96mph. Thats all I have to go by.

I would recommend getting a good dyno tune. If your air/fuels are good it shouldn't take much to dial in the timing. I think you could be loosing a lot of power through the whole rpm range due to ignition timing. Would start there. Slicks also help. I ran a 13.6@98 on a d16z with a 60 shot and chipped ecu, stock over wise. 2.0 60 ft.

I just found out my timing maps were incorrectly synch'd.. I got things straightened out now but my old maps were essentially retarded 10 degrees. I am sure thats going to effect power some
