My Dyno Times... I think there is something wrong. Please help.
I went to the dyno to get my Hondata 2bd tuned on Saturday and I was very disappointed with the results. I'll scan in the dyno chart as soon as the guy sends it to me but I think there is something wrong. I have a 1995 Honda Civic EX (D16Z6 SOHC) with a T3/T4 turbo (.63 a/r and .57 trim) setup. My peak whp was only 153.xx at 10 PSI!
I thought this was horrible. What do you guys think? I think I got ripped off at the dyno.

I have a 1.6l (the ex motor). It was a Drag kit but I pretty much replaced everything.
Here is my setup:
D16Z6
T3/T4 (.63 A/R and .57 Trim)
RC 440 Injectors
Hondata 2bd
Tial 35mm Wastegate
TurboXS Dual Stage MBC.
I know the turbo is a little to big for the engine but I still thought I would have more horsepower. I was only on the dyno for about an hour and a half.

He said that's all they usually get from D series engines. My tuner was Podium Performance BTW so if you were thinking of using them... don't.
I was thinking the same thing. I'm calling them back because this is bullshit that I just paid almost 5 grand for 50 more horsepower!!! I'm pissed, I just called them and left a message. I'll bring it back to the hack job I had before because I was pulling a lot more horsepower when I was using a Vortech at 10 PSI.

Something is way wrong there. If I can make 217.7whp @ 10psi on a small GReddy with the same setup as you, I can't see you making less than me..
well before you start bitching about it. how does your car run. does it smoke? compression is good? a sohc on here with the same setup but with the greddy kit is running 205hp+- on i think 9.5psi
Only a little smoke when I start (black smoke). Compression is good. But if other people are running about the same setup as me and their cars are fine then why isn't mine making that much power?

Tuning. Are you SURE you are boosting a full 10psi and not trailing off boost? Assuming you are holding the full 10psi, ask them what A/F they tuned the car at. I was tuned at about 11.8-11.9 which is on the richer side of things to keep me safe at 10psi. Generated 180whp @ 6psi, 214 @ 9.5psi, 217 @ 10psi.
I was on the rich side also although I don't know the exact numbers. When we went from 7 PSI to 10 PSI we only got another 17 whp or some crap. Should I go get some wideband work from gruvytune or what because this is total crap.
I should definatly have more horsepower though... right?

I would be pissed. I think someone posted this about Podium performance last week. I said in that thread that after speaking with the guy it sounded like he had no idea on how to tune....I decided to save my money.
I would definetly checkout gruvytune. Maybe even call hondata and let them know that they are not capable tuners. Then again this is the one and only feedback i ever heard from them......

I was planning to go get my Hondata tuning done with Podium Performance (because it's close by), but I rather get my car properly tuned with Torin (GruvyTune)
(it's going to be a six hour drive, but I think it's well worth it!). I'll update you guys on how everything goes, but I'm sure it's going to come out perfect.

pornstaR: I'm driving out to see him about tuning (its about 4 hours away)
bmm89: my a/r is in the low 11's I believe.
Matthew: the tuning session is going to cost me 125 because of a 50 tuning rebate from hondata ($100 per hour for 1 hour and 45 minutes minus $50).
93LSivic: I'm calling Hondata in a few minutes to warn them that Podium is a bunch of idiots.
Again. I cannot stress this enough. Do not tune with Podium!!!
