Default jdm/usdm

can some one please post or show me a link of the specs of 97 jdm type r really i just want to know where they redline for both usdm and jdm sorry for the dumb question?

Redlines are the same at 8400

9200 sounds like a spoon ecu or something, certainly not jdm stock itr, i concur @ 8400 rpm

ok so chipping an ecu to redline @9k would hurt the motor right

on a stock R motor? it sure would if you do it often. one mis-shift shouldn't hurt though

9k won't usually hurt an r motor, but it won't make power up there with stock cams and compression

True, but the shift to the next gear will put the engine higher up on the power curve, and an extended red line can help in situations where certain turns on a track necessitate holding a gear slightly longer than the stock red line will allow.
