timing issues with crvtec
running a crvtec obd2 with step down to obd1 in a dc2
basically the issue i was having last season pre-storage was the tach would go wild under braking and the car would die out when downshifted.
pulled the car out a few days ago, ran decent for a night with the same issues as last season.. left it parked for another day and when i tried starting it again it just mis-fires.. tach goes wild all the time now (not matching actual rpm) and unless my foots on the gas the car shuts off.
Its shooting a lot of flames so i'm thinking the timings way off.. (exhaust opening early)
so far i've changed:
- dizzy
- spark plugs
- injectors
i pulled the valve cover to check if its jumped a tooth on the exhaust cam but it didn't seem to have and the belts still tight.. but i didn't line it up tdc so i'm not 100%
throwing no codes and holding fuel pressure at ~40
i'm wondering if it could be bad gas, i stored the car in november with a tank of 94 but i forgot to put stabilizer and i never got out to the storage unit to start the car..
anyone have an idea to test that out without having to dump an almost full tank of gas?
