I have an 03 hx... whenever i let the car idle i hear like this really big squealing noise n it happens when the car idles below 1000rpms... when i down shift i also get a loud squeal... then when i have myself n 2 other people seated in the car when it idles it sounds like somethings is wrong with the muffler.... could someone please help me...

 

could be the heat plate rubbing. but the amount of people in the car should not matter int hat situation. I would say you have a bad belt. but that would not have anything to do with people in the car. are the to issues related. can you give more details on what kind of squeak. Or a location more exact than just under the car.

well when i raise the hood it sound like its comin from the belt area... They arent related... I took it to honda but they swear they dont hear anything... I checked the belts after i turned the car off and everything was ok... THen I went thru a drive thru and it started again... ITs really loud too... THe muffler sound only comes when i have 2 other people in the car... Its kinda of like a puttering sound then... and i can feel the vibrations from that and the vibrations when it starts squealing when im just by myself...

 

i will try to get a video up so you can hear the noise or a sound sample... but its like a really high pitched thing...

 

definitely ac belts for the squealing.. not sure about the puttering noise

 

Ok that sounds logical... Anybody know the price to get into dat...

 

you can try to just tighten them..
