Hot hot hot!!
ok i have a 90 teggy ls and its been over heating so far i changed the thermostat, i also unplugged the little fan because it would stay on and kill my battery And have a small coolant leak nothing big to be making my car over heat i check the coolant every day. what could it be its starting to get hot out and want to fix this(ima get a new radiator soon)
Have you bled it out? Start your car and open that little bleeder valve on the top of the hose neck near the dizzy. Once all the air is out, close it back up.

cant believe no one pointed out the most important probability= the water pump!
what you want to do is (with the car not running and cold) replug your fan, turn your heater in the car to max(with the fan off or lowest, inside at the console),now take the rad cap off and refill the coolant untill it drips out, still with the cap off turn the car on(do not put the rad cap back on,it has to be off for you to look at it). wait for a couple of minutes as your car idles to normal operation temp(be waiting by the rad not in the car looking at what your coolant is doing, just keep going back and forth in the car just to look at the t-gauge) once the engine is at normal operating temp you should here a click and the coolant that was motionless in your rad should start to turn like a tornado, give a couple of revs with your finger on the throttle and see if that twist gets faster the more you rev it. if the twist barely speeds up even though you are pushing the engine to higher revs your,or if you had never even heard the click sound and never noticed any movement at all in your coolant even though you had the car on for a while and its above normal t-temp= your w-pump is in need of replacement, oh and for others follow the same instructions for coolant bleeding, once this click sound is heard and you have your coolant turning just add more and more coolant till it tops and let all the bubbles clear out the rad cap, once you noticed no more bubbles put your rad cap on(recommended to replace the rad cap too)

na i checked none of that worked like the car over heat withing a hour just at idle and driving. if it was the water pump would it over heat fast? could the little fan have anything to do with it over heat because 1 fan for a big radiator. does the a/c fan help the other fan cool the car down? it could be a clogged in the Radiator ima order 1 soon. i get paid on friday.
You say you overheat at idle? Did you made sure that the fan turned on by itself after about 15 minutes idle? OR do you have to turn it on manually? Make sure the ETCS (electronic temp control switch?) is working properly.. that's what is turning on your fan so you don't overheat.
But if you say you have a small leak.. why not just replace the radiator and see what happens cuz even a small leak at high temps can cause the crack to expand thus leaking more than you think it would...

We know you changed out the t-stat, but when you let the car warm up and fan came on, did you check the upper and lower radiator hoses to see if your new t-stat really open? That will narrow down the water pump and circulation issues.
Where is your coolant leak coming from?
How old are your hoses?
Have you flushed the radiator?
Have you replaced the cap?
Next time you replace the thermostat why don't you spend a few more dollars and get a failsafe, that way in the even it does fail....it will stay open.

yea i got a new cap and its leaking in front lower part of the radiator. im getting the radiator next week. but i thk we know what it is i thk its the temp gauge sensor giving a fack reading because it was on H yesterday and we popped the hood and my uncle put his finger in the coolant and it wasnt even hot im hoping thats it
the temp gauge was at '' H '' soo like boiling hot and your uncle took the chance of putting his finger in the coolant wtf? dude if you are not that handy or mech inclined please take your car to a mech shop next time! you really really could have got hurt jesus! all you needed was a temp reader which a mech shop would have taken tops 1.5 minutes and in the worse case charged you a coffee! not worth the risk nor the time you spent in my opinion.
