When are bead screws necessary or just plain better to have. Are they useful in an all motor application or mostly FI? Are bead screws only used with tubes or without tubes? thanks in advance!
I really don't see it being needed for the street all motor class. We run them for our turbo car but Ive seen people like Courtney not have them at the track and go 9.5s. I would wait for a true bead lock wheel before putting screws in my rims.
You could just mark the rim and tire and see if its slipping. I keep mine marked and check after every pass, so far the tire is staying in place.
iv'e marked my slicks before. after a couple passes they moved about 2-3 inches. this is with 23x8x13 M&H's w/ 6-7 psi, getting high 1.5-low 1.6's 60fts, open diff and making around 220+.
Still have not put rims screws in though.

I've tried that in the past with my 22's but never with my 24.5's I'll see how that goes this season, once the car is back up and running...
