i did a tune up, replaced the main relay, replaced the ignition control module in the distributor, new cap and rotor,but this car will not stay running..it will start up butafter a 10-15min drive the rpms go haywire and the car shuts off. if you wait a few minutes it will start but you cant go very far before it does it again.

FYI: when i replaced the icm i noticed a considerable amout of oil inside the distributor because of the gasket was cracked.

i want other ideas on what might be wrong before i go and get another distributor..

 

check your MAP and TPS sensor. it sounds like its defo something electrical

 

****UPDATE**** When the car shut of this time i took the number one plug wire out and put a screwdriver in to see if i had any spark...well it didnt...so is it the distributor? i've already changed the icm and ignition coil

 

try another ecu

 

Is the CEL ON?
