how do i get my antenna down in to where it pops out? I dont even know where it pops out at? my plug was cut off so i got a new antenna now i cant get the wire to go down and pop out under the dash. any help with this would be great. Like when i side it down the hole it goes down maybe a foot and a half then just stops and doesnt wanna go.

U were supposed to attach a string to the old one as u pull it out so u can just pull it right through. Believe me doing it by chance and getting it through is so freaking hard. I made this mistake about 3 years ago. Took me about 30 minutes of pushing and twisting to get it at the bottom. Find the longest needle nose plyers u can get and look behind a large pipe right around your main relay. Its a bitch to get it through, but possible be patient

 

If you know how to splice antenna wires, you can cut the end off so it's thinner. Or, get a block off plate and do an internal powered antenna.

 

For my 91 Civic several years ago, I bought some 10 AWG copper wire (with bright pink sheathing) at Lowe's or Home Depot. It is the right stiffness for the job. I stuffed the 10 AWG copper wire down the antenna orifice in the car roof until I could see the pink on the left side of the driver footwell. Many wires are down there, so ideally you will have a helper who can wiggle on the 10 AWG copper wire while you watch for it in the footwell. I think I then put a loop in the 10 AWG copper wire and dragged the antenna wire down. Patience, the stiffness of the 10AWG and its bright pink color should help you to success.

 

This seems to work for us to get wires where you want them, ya know those tools that you would use to get dropped bolts and stuff? The one that has the handle on one end and the claw on the other, those work really well for running wires in places that you just simply cant get your hand into.

 

I got a block off plate but ehh.. I think I might try the 10g wire, I'm color blind so pink would not work for me probably have to be black or white. But if some one is wiggling it i don't think it would matter much, I should be able to see it. If it all fails I guess I'll just block it off with some metal and just put one in the back hatch area hidden. Thanks for all the tips and help.
