Cel, no knock sensor, vtec works, b16..??

Cel, no knock sensor, vtec works, b16..??
well i got a little bit of a problem..
my car throws a cel ONCE in a while.
my motor has no knock sensor but my vtec kicks in super loud all day long.
some days the cel wont even turn on.
if i jerk the car a bit (stage 2 clutch) in first gear, it turns on sometimes.
how do i check what its throwing if it comes on sometimes...never on start up.

Kncock sensor is doing it, my friend was throwing one for knock and o2 and sometimes it wouldnt come on until it was beat on a little. He has the same exact setup as you. 96 civic jdm b16 jdm b16 ecu.
And knock sensor does nothing to VTEC...
