Default mozart exhaust?

what do you'll think about the mozart exhaust axle-back for the 98 Type-R?

Don't waste your money on a Konig product which u can buy at any Rice shops. Save up for a quality JDM products.
I yelled at my friend putting this junk on his WRX so few wks later, he bought a Pro-Drive axled back instead.

its all up to you man. the sound of the exhaust will probably be loud and the quality of the packing materials may not be so good. aside from the twin loop mugen wanna be one they got, i am guessing its all pretty loud. my custom ES/ Magnaflow exhaust sounds pretty damn good... not too loud and it definitely sounds unique. You can get an ES muffler for $100 and get custom piping for the axel back. Probably $150 total... no tip so it looks kinda sleeper. But its up to you man... Im just assuming the cheap cost is why you would consider a Konig exhaust.

well get yourself an ES Muffler @ http://www.inlinefour.com (they have em in stock, i got mine today) or http://www.jdmhondaparts.com may have em too. Click on the link in my sig for a good muffler shop and go have them install it. Either chop off the stock muffler or have em build a new rear section. Or you can just go to the muffler shop and get a magnaflow for $75. (not all shiney tho) and have them install it. In all it shouldnt cost more than $200 and it will be of good quality. (you can get a tip if you want, but it costs more and does nothing for sound or performance.)

Believe me, you will be better off saving up your money and spending the extra money on quality parts. This is an R we are talking about - don't cheapen it by putting low-quality partson it. Nothing wrong with a stock R while you are saving.

Patience....

on stock motor, an exhaust wouldn't make much difference, just make more noise till you get sick of it. I'd be more worried about loosing hp with some exhausts out there.

a good investment is to get 2.5 ss madrel bent piping, + whatever straight through muffler (a resonator may help imrove the sound, some custom exhaust produce feedback noise due to larger piping and no engineering/blueprinting). once you have that, you need not to worry about changing exhaust, unless you go FI.

btw, ES muffler is same as comptech and few other aftermarket exhaust companies, only difference is the tip they bolt on that muffler - its made by borla. - it should make deep and not raspy tone compared to oval mufflers.

you would do better to save your money up for a JDM DC 4-1 or JDM OE 4-1 header and high flow cat/with reducer for OE exhaust(see SMSP)... trust us, your pissing up hill, into the wind with a axle back on an otherwise stock R...

Zeus- who has over 30k with AEM CAI/JDM 4-1 header/SMSP 2.5" CarSound cat and "free" mods... thinking hard about giving up on a MKIV Turbo Supra and the R for a federalized EVO VII Extreme...

ES muffler is only a muffler.
Like i said, go to a muffler shop and they can take care of you.
The ITR's main restriction is the muffler, so getting a better flowing muffler helps in performance and a better sound.
yes there is a picture of it on inlinefour.com
order it from inlinefour.com, its $100.
no i dont have a sound clip, but it sounds really unique... i was like when i heard it from outside the car.
and you can mount the muffler anyway you want, just tell the muffler shop.

csufweed- i keep going to inlinefour and the es muffler is $180, not $100, so im confused why you keep telling me that it is $100. to me that is quite a big difference. and can i have it coming out sideways and then have the muffler shop like put a tip on it?

While you're getting that one all squared away, go ahead and get another one taken care of as well. That is if you don't mind another one running around south of the river
