my suggestion would be to save up the extra money and buy a better one to start, whether it be a linoln or a miller. you will eventually want to upgrade to one anyway. check out http://www.weldingsupply.com

sorry, i forgot to add that for a "nice" 110 home use linoln or miller MIG with argon hookup you will be looking to spend around $550-$600. though its double the cost of the one you listed, the quality is far more superior.

for exhaust i would really save some money and get a cheap name brand stick welder. the mig makes a nicer weld but cost a whole lot more.

I just bought a century for 479. It uses 110 and I'm happy with the quality.

I don't have the exact part# cause I bought it through the matco guy on payments and I left the receipt at my dads shop. I just told him I wanted the best for exhaust and body work and he told me about that one. I'm using it for exhaust, body work, and intercooler piping(downpipes).

if you have access to 220/230, here is the miller pn# i suggest to you. miller- millermatic 175 pn#907-020
here is a link to the page with more info. http://www.millerwelds.com/main/products/mig/M10561/
or for a little more money, you can get more control, slower wire speed....etc. and go with the millermatic 210 pn#907-046

hope this helps

I have a Craftsman 110v, I think it's a 90amp. With 75% Argon it works great for everything I've needed so far.

I got the millermatic 135..i think its one of the nicest home unit's you can buy before you step up to 230v. You defintly DONT need anything near 230v to just weld exhaust...so i would only get that if you think you'll ever need to do some heavy welding in the future...(eventhough the 110v 135 will do 3/16" steel in 1 pass. I chose the 110v cause it's easily portable then...and if i was ever wanting to weld something near 1/4" thick steel i would use an arc/stick welder anyways. My vote is millermatic 135 or 175 depending on voltage. I did a fair amount of research too..compared to the lincoln 135 and hobart 135..i found the miller to be the best quality. Tad bit more expensive..but remember...get what ya pay for. This is something that will be in your garage for 30 years...i didn't want to skimp.

For moderate jobs and on 110v i also say get the Millermatic 135 w/ argon hookup. Quality welds and good reliability. Look to spend about 530-550 on the unit and about another 100 or so on the gas hookup.
