mini me not starting :(
ok today was my first time really doing any major work to a motor. took me all day but i tore it down and put it all together. problem is it wont start. i have spark and i have fuel and i put the motor to TDC and put the crank pulley to the up position. what i didnt notice till trying it a few times is i didnt ground out the valve cover. so i did so and tried again with no avail. i gave up thinking the motor might be flooded. im exhausted and couldnt think of much so i gave up for the night. if you guys can think of anything it would help a ton. also what hose connects to the bottom of the FITV? o yea its the d15b7 to z6 mini me
um i just had this prob two days ago, check to make sure about the time belt. i had put mine on with it 180 off by mistake. no start with fuel and spark, fixed time started up. then broke the cheap key on cam gear now its fubar.
thanks for the help. im going to go check it out. i was thinking maybe i put the dizzy 180 off even though it went on pretty smooth. and am going to doublle check the mechanical. and the check engine light acts normal turns on and then clicks off. and i dont think i ever took off the ground from the thermostat housing.

okay got it started Mechanical timing was off a few teeth that diagram was a big help... but new problem is water/ coolant fouling out #1 cylinder possibly others. this is going to sounds weird but here it is.when i first fired it up it sounded like a hemi. like a loopy idle at 1500. i swapped out the IACV off the z6 and put my b7 one on. and also the TB that came with the z6 had the right nipple on the FITV snapped off so i just used my b7 throttle body. theres no nipple on his IM like there was on my B7 IM to hook it up to so i used a brass T fitting to splice it to the coolant line on the the nipple that is right above the large coolant line on the IM. im spitting out mist out my exhaust. and my radiatiator resivor is bubbling. i have to have some lines mixed up im thinking or the head gasket but i doubt the head gasket...im incredilbly confused. this is what my lines are right now.i have (looking at the engine) 2 coolant hoses 1 large one small going to the IM. 2 coolant hoses going to the FITV and 2 coolant going to the IACV. 1 air hose the the top of the TB. 1 air house going fro the IM to the master cylinder area one going to the FPR and one going to a box underneith the IM. if any one thinks something sounds off or has some diagrams itd help alot. thanks
new head gasket on its running good. just have to change the oil a few times to clean all the coolant out the oil system. quick question i plugged in the p28 ecu and was throwing a code. could it be because i didnt wire up vtec yet?
ok i'll wire it up and see what i get. seemed to run pretty good on the p06 with no vtec. skipping that one step cost me $40 and a few hours. atleast i remebered to remove the oil plug
