Default shifter stuck need help asap

so i was on my way home when i stopped at a light. when it changed i put it in 1st, and let off the clutch and gave it gas my car started shaking and turned off. when i tired turning it on i put the clutch all the way down, but the shifter wouldnt go into gear. but with the car off the shifter could move into any gear.... can comeone help me and let me know this asap. i think it could be one of the cables im not sure. i've searched but havent found anything in real details. my master cyclinder is good and theres fluid. no codes or anything.the master is full no leaks or anything, well yesterday i told one of my friends to pump the clutch pedal, and yes it does move. then i told him to shift through the gears(car off) and i saw everything move right like its supposed too. the cables moved and all the gears went in. (with the car on) the cables looked like it had a hard time pushing into gear. and the shifter was only in neutral and wouldn't go in any gear..............

Did you mis-shift prior to stopping at that light ?

Sounds like a classic case of a broken/loose spring on the disc hub.

Since the hydraulic system seems to be working fine, there is essentially no chance of you repairing this without dropping the transmission.

i had a similar problem with my last trans also...it ended up being my syncro's. when was the last time u checked or changed ur trans fluid? having lil or no trans fluid will make it hard to get into gears.

I am willing to bet this is the problem, too.

Do the following WITHOUT ANYTHING OR ANYONE in front of the car!!!!!!!!!!

Try this. Put the shifter in first gear while the car is off. Push the clutch pedal to the floor and then try to start the car. If the car moves forward, it is most definitely an issue with the clutch. I am willing to get the clutch disk is warped, but it could be an issue with the throwout bearing.

What kind of clutch are you using?

That ginding noise could be one of the springs from the clutch disk.

ok so idk what happened exactly but i bled the fluid from the slave, and filled the master again and built pressure now its fine. only letting go of the clutch in 1st to pull away it makes a weird grinding noise or rattling noise now as i let off the clutch

So did you get it to work? You should have that disk looked at if nothing else. It's never good to drive a car that is making noises. It will eventually break and you will be SOL.
