Default smoke in car..

I just went to grab a bite to eat on my lunch break ( at work obviously) I was chillin in my car eatting my taco bell and i see white smoke coming from the shift boot.. kinda smells like oil.. Where should I start to pinpoint this problem and what should I look for a leak ? is my tranny empty ? etc

what color is the smoke? assuming your not sure its oil or not. Something is probably leaking onto the exhaust, check around the back of the motor and look for leaks.

is it sweet smelling cause if so it's antifreeze, but if it's oily smelling check the oil pan gasket and like he said check where your exhaust and headers meet for any leaks

thanks guys I'll check all those things out tomorrow and see what I can turn up. My old jeep was leaking from the oil filter adaptor and it was such a bitch to fix there were 3 little orings which were easy to replace but the way the adapter is and the way it was facing and the type of tool you needed to get it off made it a pain in the ***. lol
