if its not ur valve cover it might be ur dizzy o-ring. white smoke where? exhaust? that usually means water/coolant in the oil but its probably freezing in MN so its probably that. oil on the tranny is most likely ur dizzy oring like i said tho.

yes that would be a good idea. also have the head sent to a machine shop to have the head checked and the mating surface plained so its true and strait. if you dont, look forward to changing the HG in a year or so lol

Re: WHITE SMOKE!! oil all over... NO IDEA WHERE FROM!!
probably your "cam seals" (on the cam gear side), my bro has a b20vtec and he has some aggressive skunk2 pro2's with toda cam gears, and it leaked for a while. we didnt see it until there was a major oil leak after we came from irwindle speedway. we had to switch it twice, but make sure you know what your doing, i recommend a pro tuner/builder to do it.
does this helps?

change the gasket, drain all fluids, add new oil and coolant. change oil at about 100miles.
after that you should be fine the heat of the motor will evaporate any water or coolant left over in the oil pan see that oil operating temperatures are much higher then coolant

just check to see if ur oil looks milky or frothy! if its nice and clear its not a headgasket. white smoke could be from the freezing temps like i said before. if ur coolant is leaking into the engine then u would be losing coolant! are ur coolant levels getting lower?

the leak is most likely your cam end cap seal.
This will show you how to replace it
