Default Dipstick Blowing Out

Anyone else have a problem with the dipstick blowing out? Only running 8lbs of boost, but everytime I get into it the dipstick blows out and shoots oil over the motor. Is this odd?? Suggestions?

Replace your PCV valve. Just my thoughts, I have never had this problem, but it sounds like you have excessive crank case pressure.

yea you got excessive blow by. i had exact same problem then a month later motor went in my car. i would suggest to do a compession test. see what your numbers are. sounds like rings might be bad. dont want to burst your bubble but thats exactally how it started with me then the motor went.

here is your answer. i have not heard of the dip stick blowing out. that must be some crazy **** though. lol. also check that you have the right dipstick. it should fit snuggly on the hole and should be tugged pretty nicely for it to come out. if it comes out easily then you will have to replace your dip stick.

crank case ventilation will help prevent that.

that sounds like a good place to start IMO. Compression and leakdown test. If those turn out acceptable, then I would look for the PCV valve next but THAT much pressure to push oil out of the dipstick tube sounds kinda severe man... Hope its just the PCV but heres how I always look at stuff like this, "dont be scared... be prepared for the worst.."

i agree with these guys do a compression and leakdown test asap, but before you do that try opening the oil fill cap with the engine running hopefully you have done this before to compare your observations with but if you haven't you should have some air blowing out but not much pressure, it should be effortless to cover the hole with your hand and keep the air from coming out

I will give that one a shot. I got in touch with my shop to see what's up. I'm settin up the appt for the leakdown test. He didn't sound very optimistic. I guess if that's the case then I'm lookin at a rebuild. Had planned to, but not for a lil ways down the road. I may also try replacing the pcv valve and the dipstick anyways.
