H22A Turbo Build Suggestions and Limitations
I'm building a h22a for boost
I'm thinking of trying some mahle gold pistons so I dont have to sleeve
but I'm not 100% sold on it's reliability
But I got a guy that can/will sleeve for peanuts
But I'm trying to keep the budget low so I can enter the grassroots motorsports $2009 challenge
I can get a monster turbo good for 600 - 800 hp for cheap
I've already got a t3/t4 .50/.63 trim
Questions:
1.) What are the rod limitations of the h22a
How much cylinder pressure can they take before they blow
Corkey bell (author, Maximum Boost) says that rods only need to be upgraded if your reving beyond stock redline, which I wont
2.) How much pressure can the stock frm walls take assuming I go with male gold pistons
I'm having dreams of 700 hp but 400-500 is probably enough

One your Hp goals are unrealistic on a none sleeved motor. Second ,I have read an old thread on the Mahle gold pistons so look for that. That should give you some good info. Third and last I would research turbo ALOT before you start. hope that helps
