Im pretty sure they mean mask the bumper to prevent overspray, and use "trim" black spray paint to repaint the grill black

i got to say the paint quality on the lip is poor now it just makes the car look sloppy in my opinion . I would invest in a air compressor and a spray gun to get better quality results. this was done with my spray gun

paint quality

if you want your car to look better then it's a must you got to cough up money to do so i personally won't half a** the car i drive .

just mask up the backside of the grill and around the grill so you wont get over spray and get a can of trim black paint and paint it even coat at a time and let it dry a bit between each coat..then remove your foglights and tape up your bumper and paint it black in the foglight area then put the foglights back on and BAM your done
