Reverse light issues.
So I bought a 88dx civic a few months back for $200. I have been slowly trying to but it back together to be put back on the road.
So I finally got it running and noticed that the reverse lights on on all the time. I tried disconnecting the 2 plugs that go to the reverse switch on the tranny but the light is still on. I am guessing there is a short somewhere in the wiring between the reverse switch and the reverse lights.
Can tell me or does anyone have a diagram of how the wiring travels from the tranny to the rear reverse lights. thanks

Unplugging the plug from the reverse switch won't solve the problem. you need to install a new reverse switch Once u changed it. There will be no more problems with the reverse light.
Again if anyone has a wiring diagram that would be helpful.
i have a similar problem...my reverse lights dont work at all. the 2 harness wires have power but still no lights. well the wires travel along the pass side of the car. the reverse wire is green i believe. i would take the back plastic cover off inside the hatch and look for the wire being grounded somehow. give it a wiggle. my first ef hatch had the reverse lights on constantly too. unplugged the switch, still on. i replaced the switch with a new one and they went off and functioned normally
