Need help
I am looking at a 91 Civic with an LS swap. Has new clutch, tranny rebuilt.. But the car was driving and all a sudden it stopped and then started and stopped until the guy got it home. Ever since he got the car home it hasnt started. There is a lot of oil all over the engine bay ( blown head gasket) He said the head had a stock rebuilt head so I thought that the motor could be vapor locked. Tried moving the belt with my hand to get it too move it didnt budge. He is asking $550. The car has ls swap ,intake, wheels, memphis speakers, the body has some rust on quarterss and sides. Also needs a drivers side window and a left fender.
Is it worth the money in the long run looking for a daily driver eventually but I dont want a money pit

1) how do you know its a blown headgasket? maybe its just valve cover gaskets leaking oil or something...
2) usually the engine is not able to be moved by hand...
3) sounds like either the coil took a **** or the rotor has come unscrewed from the axle it sits on in the distributor. check it out
4)500 bucks is cheap, but rust reallly sucks

check all the basic's first, timing, fuel, spark, grounds, make sure the rotor is still attached, pull the plugs out from the head and look at the tips to see what they look like. the plugs can tell you a lot about the motor... then go from there. sounds like something in the ignition system is taking a crap on the car. maybe try bringing a spare dizzy w you? if you buy the car, use a can or two of brake clean to clean up the engine bay so you can discover where the oil leak is.
