Default reverse lights stay on

I have this problem with my daily driver that the reverse lights stay on all the time but they are really dim. They both do this and its kinda crazy. What would cause this? Its a 00 civic coupe with an auto transmission.

Your AT gear position switch in the gear shift console may be bad or out of adjustment.

yea just the reverse lights stay on the brake lights and turn signals work fine. I will tear apart the console and look. Is there anything on the transmission that would go bad? Someone told me there is a yellow and green wire on top of the transmission that also go to the lights?

That's for a manual transmission. You have an automatic.

You may be talking about the VSS wires, which isn't relevant for your problem.
