Flower Fund for Jody McGovern's (EagleR) Funeral Arrangements
I am really taken back by the kindness that many of you have showed towards the events surrounding Jody's death early saturday morning. A lot of you have expressed intrest in gathering a fund for Jody's family. They are taking his death very hard, since Jody was an only child.
For those of you looking to help his family contact AUSTIN on the forum. We are going to use his paypal account to accept donation. These donation will go DIRECTLY to a floral arrangement, and towards ribbons, cards, and such to comfort them with thier horrible loss. If you wish to view Jody's obituary it is located here on the Pittsburgh Post Gazettes web page. Thanks again for your concerns...you really are the best!
UPDATE - I called the Funeral Director and here is the scoop. Austin is going to donate some of the money collected to purchase a flower arrangement, although the remaining amount will go to "Make a Wish Foundation" in Pittsburgh. For those of you who are not familiar with Make a Wish, it's an organization that helps kids with deadly illnesses go to places, and do things that they would never be able to do. Basically it lets them live out the rest of their life, happy. It makes me sad, cause this is such a noble idea.
In addition. I am going to hang a red ribbon on my rear view mirror, to remind me of how quickly things can change. If you all wish to do this as well, I'm sure Jody would be happy. Thanks for your support again.

My Paypal account number is __________ I will keep open records of this so that everyone knows where the money came from, and where it went to. Please include you screen name on your donation...it's hard trying to figure out who is which screen name.

Flowers had to be sent this morning(8/13) to arrive for the funeral today...I called and bought an arrangement for the family...I had to make the greeting myself, it's not the best, but it's what I could come up with this morning. We spent $192.55 on the arangement...all additional funds will be sent to Make-A-Wish Foundation on behalf of Jody "Eagle R" McGovern, I'll send a check out after I receive a couple of promised funds.
The card read:
Our thoughts and prayers go to the family of Jody "Eagle R" McGovern.
A donation is being made on his behalf to the Make A Wish Foundation.
From his friends and fellow car enthusiasts at Honda-Tech.com
That's all I could think of on the spot, as I had a short time to order them this morning to ensure that they would arrive for the funeral this afternoon...east coast is 3 hours ahead of me.

I now have $657.78 in my account, plus we already spent $192.55 on the flowers.
If you're not on this list and you sent me money, please send me an IM, as I think that I have everyone, but could be missing one person(it was migs).
