I have a 93 civic with a b16. Sometimes the check engine light comes on but not alot. I hit some bumps and the car sputters and jerks a bit. Sometimes it runs fine but then sometimes I give it at least half throttle, it sputters. Any help would be greatly apprectiated.

 

What cel code is the ecu throwen?

 

Not sure. I can't find anything to check it with. But I do remember that there is a dent in the gas tank.

Honestly guy, you should find out what the check light is for. Call around, i'm sure some place will bring up the codes for free, or maybe like $30 or something.

 

But the would the dent in the gas tank cause it to sputter also? My friend works in Orr Honda superstore as a mechanic and he just told to push the dent out with a board. Isn't there some kind of paint or some type of liner in the tank that will come off?

 

No reason that dent will cause any problems, unless its contacting the fuel pump. As far as the board thing goes, you would have to drop the tank and take out the fuel pump to get at it.

 

Maybe im not doing it right but i just tried to check the cel but the light just stays on.
