the forced induction forum.

DO NOT attempt the 250 injector suggestion...

you could also look into running an FMU (old tech, but a simple addition)

well after searching around it looks like the vafc ahck is not really a popular system used. can the a6 be converted to obd1 for more options?

"20lbs" and "10lbs" mean absolutely nothing since you didn't say what turbo you are using. 10lbs on a tiny turbo is less efficient than a larger turbo. This will yield different horsepower.

You can't select injectors, pistons, rods, or anything else based on psi. without knowing the turbo and motor specifics.

What hp are you shooting for?
THAT'S what you need to select parts.

Personally for me it's less hassle to just buy a conversion harness and a obd1 dizzy. You will need a dizzy from a d15b7 and a conversion harness as well as a p05 or p06 ecu. The options that the Free Tuning software has is very open. Crome, Uberdata etc. Do it right the first time so you dont have to worry about blowing it up, I know the AFC Hack is still used but some people advise against it and why not when you have alot more options with the Free stuff.

There is no way to guess what kind of times you will run. I could say you would run a 13.9 but lord knows I dont know how you drive etc. So many factors are there traction, RT etc.

I'm pretty sure that he said he was running a t25.....which is small and 10psi on a daily is coo....as far as what speedfactory uses I'm not sure....but I haven't seen anything bad come out of there and when I get my build going that is where I'm going to go.

ya i am using my t25 off my saab hopefully, it was boostin 14 psi all day so i need to turn it down and as of now its just the stack bottom end until i can figure out the mangment issues then i plan on throwin in some vitaras and maybe some b series rods not sure whats good whats not yet. oh and stock head full rebuild. hp goal no more than 200, something realistic for a dd, maybe around 150 to 170.

ya i am def takin my time on this build lol started last spring. but the motor is done now im just deciding whih path she will take in life. (na or booooost)

Yeah, just saw that T25 later in the post. Wasn't sure which it was though - T25-2B is a bit different than a regular T25.

You should be able to do the 180~200 no problem with stock rods and pistons. Putting vitaras and some other rods (might as well get a Z6 head too and convert to OBD1 too!) will in there will drop your compression and then you will probably want to get rid of the T25. At that point start looking into a turbo that can take you into the 300 and beyond numbers.

T25 is pretty small, spools up fast, but doesn't offer much of a topend. I think I have seen 2B's running about 14 psi and putting down about 24hp. with 10psi I think you should be right around your target numbers.
