Default Found a b18 in the junkyard today

Im gonna buy buying a b18b1 out of a 94+ integra and was wondering what tranny i could use the since it has an automatic tranny attached to this. The b18b1 is a ls motor correct? The motor is missing the cams.

You'll have to get a jumper harness to use your harness I'm pretty sure. Or you could swap the injectors and some other things.

honestly if it is a junkyard motor with the cams missing already you probally don't want unless you are getting it REALLY cheap. Otherwise it sounds like a motor that will need a rebuild before you install it

So im guessing all these jdm engines online come straight from the dealership? Seriously you sound like a moron.

Im getting the motor for $150 since the exhaust cam isnt there. And I am good friends with the owner of the junkyard. The car was involved in a crash. Im building the motor for boost and am not concerned about the the exhaust cam missing.

I know ill need mounts . Someone said you need to run a ex harness is this true also is the master clyinder better im gonna pull off the rear disc brakes tomorrow to.

You need 99 - 00 civic Si mounts on the driver side as well as the rear T bracket. I believe the transmission mount is the same from D to B series. Good luck!

$150 for an ls motor... crazy. I think I spent more than that last time I had someone else work on my car, lol.

Most junkyard workers, as well as most previous owners, know enough to gank dohc vtec motors before they make it to the junk yard. B18A/B's are hardly fetch the premium to warrant the same treatment. I just saw one on craigslist for $175 obo.

The only real differences between your dx harness should be the dizzy & injector connectors. You can just use your DX injectors for now though. I think you can just repin your sohc's connectors for the b18 dizzy, as the pins themselves are usually the same. I think the cam isnt' a big deal at all, since people sell them for $20/set sometimes. Honda auto's generally have weaker cams anyways.
