Why are dual pistons better than one? sorry its such a stupid question.
I was thinking about doing the v6/legen caliper upgrade, but what is the advantage of the legend caliper over the v6 one? Is the caliper bigger than the sedan model? Also, about the dual and single piston thing too. Sorry I dont know much about the braking system, also should I buy it used at the kunkyard or new?
Thanks
Thanks
Here's an analogy:
Try to pick something up with only 2 fingers...(your thumb and forefinger)
Then try to pick up the same object with 3 fingers...
then try to pick it up with 4 fingers...
I bet the amount of pressure you need to pick up the object with 4 fingers is less than the amount of pressure with 3 fingers... and I bet trying to pick up the object with 2 fingers takes the most pressure (effort)...
Does that help ?

The pads is pressed flatter against the rotor surface. The pad is a little bigger. The entire caliper is bigger allowing for a larger heat sink.
Thanks guys! So is the reason for the Legend dual piston upgrade, the slightly larger pad for more area, or the fact that it is a dual piston caliper? Also, is it bad to do anything with the rear rotors?

very nice
Here's the deal, the pads are the same, but are pressed flatter onto the rotor. Even though most people would tell you not to, you NEED to at least upgrade the rear pads. If not you will get severe understeer under braking. Except for that you should be fine.

Where can I get a new set of the legend calipers? I checked the junkyards and they dont have it. Also, are AEM or brembo pads better?
