Default TPS Sensor

I believe I have figured out why my car is not starting.

I think its my TPS wiring, according to my VAFC2, my throttle is at 100% even when the car is not running. And when I pull the TPS out, it reads 0%. I have already tried reversing the outer wires.

Once the car starts up if it hit the Throttle Body Cam it stays running. I believe its just dumping way to much fuel into the engine.

So does anyone know the TPS Color to ECU pinout for a OBD-1 PR3. I think something is ****ed up in the wiring, and I am just going to hardwire it.

If you guys can help that would be great.

I would get out a multi meter and test your tps. Rather than running new wires just see if you're getting you're 5 volt reference voltage, if you have a good ground, and if you get a good clean sweep on the signal wire. If any of those are bad then you know where to go from there.
Also, have you had the TPS out of the TB? If so did you get the tab on the right side? I know I screwed that up once and it held my TPS open when my throttle was closed.
Sorry, I don't know the wiring colors or pins for the PR3, I'm sure it's on here or another honda site though. Check in the FAQ section.

How should I test?

on your afc go to settings- car select- make sure the arrow that is on there make sure it is pointing up and to the right and that it is set to a 4 cylinder

just had that problem today depending on which direction that arrow is pointing can make you afc while you are monitoring data can make yout tps reading start at %100 and as you push the gas pedal the tps reading will go to %0

The signal wire is the middle wire I believe. Sorry not 100% on that, but it's easy to test it. If you have a multi meter or can borrow one, you just set your meter to dc voltage and turn your ignition on. Use a T pin or something pointy enough to poke through the insulation and into the wires at the 3 pin connector on the TPS, leave it plugged in. Now put your black (ground) lead to good ground and touch the red lead to one of the outside wires, one should have 5 volts (this will be your power wire) and the other should have no voltage (your ground wire). Now test your ground wire by putting your red lead to the positive battery post and your black lead to the ground wire on the TPS and you should see less than .2 volts. Now put your red lead on the center signal wire on the TPS and the black one to the ground wire on the TPS. You should start with .5 volts with the throttle closed and then slowly open the throttle and the voltage should go up steadily without dropping until you reach full throttle where you should have 4.5 volts.
So your readings should be:
5 volts on power wire
0-0.2 volts on ground wire
0.5 volts at closed throttle to 4.5 volts at WOT on the signal wire.
If any of these specs are different on your car then you either have a problem with the TPS or with the wiring to the TPS. It's really easy to do, or is cheap to have a shop do for ya, so get it done and get back to us. Good luck.

I have an issue too with the TPS sensor. It is giveing Negative READINGS.The same readings as Ahknodd said but in negative -5volts for ex my honda is a japan import and i had bought a skunk2 throttle body from U.S I Think its a R.H.D to L.H.D issue cause my mech had tried it with 2 diff multimeters 3 throttle bodies and 2 Tps sensors. the car works fine just negative readings. Any help will be appricated thx

Saviour250, you're gunna have to give more info than that...
What car do you have, what motor, ecu, obd0 or obd1, what's the TB off of (b16, d series, b18?), and where is your mechanic taking the readings from? What are the symptoms of your car?
give as much info as you can, what you've said so far makes it really hard to diagnose with just that little info.

My car is a Honda Del Sol SIR japanese import. The engine is a B16, the ecu for now is an obd1 but i bought an AEM EMS cause i made a turbo upgrade, the throttle body is a Skunk 2 70mm
My mech has done the test on 2tps sensors (both japanese) and 3 throttle bodies (2japanese and 1 U.S)
when he uses the jap throttle bodies the readings are with in
4.5 volts.
readings:
5 volts on power wire
0-0.2 volts on ground wire
0.5 volts at closed throttle to 4.5 volts at WOT on the signal wire.
when he uses the U.S throttle body the reading are with in this range but negative like
-4.5volts
The car performance isint affected it works fine
Thx very much for your interest Ahknodd.
