Default how much horsepower can these blocks handle

ive done the reasearch before but ive forgot...

i was wondering what block to go with for my boost setup.

im wanting to know how much power an ls shortblock can handle with low compression pistons and rods and im also wanting to know how much power a gsr shortblock will handle with pistons and rods also...

when i did my searching a long time ago i believe the gsr block itself would hold more power but i would like everyones experience/opinion

thanks for all the help and sorry if im in the wrong section

not sure to much about the gsr engines but any engine with forged inernals will produce as much power as you want it to. an engines capacity is its ability to deliver fuel and air to the engine so it can have as much power as you want if you go nuts

that's really not your problem if you forge the rods pistons and sleeves than slap 30 psi on a t3/t4 turbo you have to worry how much the everyhting else is going to react becasue you can clutch dump at 15psi spooling and oops there goes an axle.. once you put to much into one thing you need to upgrade everything else unless your going 10 psi daily driven there shouldn't be anything to worry about but once you start forging internals your going to have to start dumping a ton of money into the car to compensate for everything else that cant take the abuse

.. some people really don't understand how much 300WHP is on a car that doesn't even weight 3000 pounds for example a 140 WHP 97 accord with a few mods will beat in a race a v6 2008 tuned charger at 280HP (see the difference in weight) with mods both cars naturally aspirated

hope this helped

Both can handle equal amount of power. I dont beleive one is better than the other.

Dont stress on this subject too much.

oh i definately understand the power to weight ratio... when i wasnt on higher boost (running 14psi at the time on a garret 60) in my fully bolt on tank of a galant tuned on e85 with aem, i got beat from a roll by my buddies basically stock swap k20 hatch... he made 216whp and im guessing i was a little over 300 but it definately gives u a sense of power to weight ratio when im 1100 lbs more than him...

oh and u had very good help but i was trying to see the power they could make sleeveless...

thanks again
