Default Cost to pay a shop to rebuild LS motor?

Let me start off by saying I'm not technically skilled with cars. I can do computers but cars is a whole different story. Unfortunately I don't have time to learn right now as I'm a full time college student. I do however have a bit saved up. My ride is a mostly stock 1991 Acura Integra and I'm well past the 200k miles mark. I'm anticipating that I will need to rebuild the motor and transmission soon.

How much am I looking at to pay a shop to rebuild my LS motor? If I'm going to get it rebuilt I would like to get P30 pistons with Crower cams on a port and polished head. I did some research on the cost of the parts but unfortunately it's not too easy to find a estimate on labor. If anyone could give me estimates it would be appreciated.

I'm in the Nor Cal area if it helps.. Thanks in advance for any help.

$2-5k depending on who builds it, how much detail is put into the build, and part selection.

yea, it all depends on what shop because each shop has their own labor rate. and you gotta make sure that the cams wont need any aftermarket valvetrain or it'll be a bit mroe than you expected.

PM me if you want to get an idea of how much the labor and cost to do a block build.

There's different options and ways to build the block. Not all engine builders do it the same though. Some are more meticulous, while others just put it together just to put it together.

Rubix cube is harder than putting a motor together. seriously. LOL. Assembling a motor just takes patience and time. Rubix cube you actually have to think. haha.

Thanks for the input guys. To be honest, that 92 Integra GSR being sold down the street for $4500 is looking that much more attractive..

Thanks allmotorek4 and ExospeedAMcrx, I'll let contact you guys if I decide to continue with my Integra. I actually came across Exospeed while doing a google search.. and that's not a bad thing.
