how long does paint need to dry...?
My car just got painted at the body shop. The painter says i can take my car in about 24 hours because the car needs to dry. I've heard that it's too soon and that i'm supposed to leave it garaged there for about 2-3 days. But the painter says he used some special clear coat or something so that it dries quick and i can take it home and even drive it in the rain...(yeah its raining where i live). Thanks in advance!
he probably used a faster hardener to speed the process up an you car should be fine. i work at a body shop an our cars sitt inside for a half hour after being baked then go out in the cold the rest of the day
if it has been baked then it will be fine once it has cooled down as mentioned above. even if it air dryes if it has had a fast hardner used in it then itl bemore or less set over nite.
Think of it this way if the painter sends it home before the paints dry and it gets fed up its his fault and hes now gotta fix it. Would he really send it off still wet?
