macco job or pro paint job ?
Hey i am going to get my car painted soon but i was wondering if macco was the way to go or should i just get a pro to do the work at a bodyshop. I also heard that some macco jobs are good and that it depends on the person who paints your car. I just wanted to know where i should go to get my car painted in ny.

Re: (JDM EJ1 95)
the only reason i used macco is b/c it was a temp thing just b4 i sold my car
take it to a body shop it might be more expensive but it will be worth it

I am a body and paint guy, some macco jobs do come out right and some don't. The really don't like to mask anything up , they are concerned with quantity not quality. Also the paint they use is different than regular Basecoat/Clearcoat which is what car manufactures use, they use a type of single stage paint which has the clear and base mixed. Single stage is good for fleet vechiles but i would never put it on my car. Some macco cars come out looking decent, but then i've also seen some cars that have been sprayed with rattle cans that come out decent, and they used primer, base and clear. so its really up to you on how much you want to spend. I would say if you plan on keeping the car for awhile get it professionally done, if you just want to sell it right away then go to macco.

just know this
good paint job will always cost more and take longer the 1 day to finish
bad paint job will cost less and will be done in 1 day(maybe 2 or 3)
