Stock K20 HP limit? power limit, boost limit.. still reliable at 300whp?
2005 Type-S
Searched and came up with 290-310hp is the limit for the k20?? RELIABLY!!
Looking to boost it and was wondering how many ppl are at or around 300 whp or higher on a stock k20...
What boost pressures? What kit? For how long? Driving style?
Thanks in advance

stock block can handle atleast 280 HP....Its a Gee motor if you tune it correctly. I personally have not even tired to get that point but I know many that have. GO FOR IT!!! k20z1 FTW
I have a 02' Type S with 458whp. The K20 motor can handle about 318-326hp with no problem. But if you want more hp change out the rods and pistons. Then the intake manifold, heads, injectors and what not.

yeah this...at least you see the same stuff i do on a daily basis hahaha
Im aiming for 370-400whp on a stock z1 bottom end on 15psi an 91 octane.
just really need to have a clutch to keep up with the power.
oh an that turbo helps too.
I know a k20a2 can handle a happy 15psi for a long time
essentially every pound of boost is just under 10hp
just get a good tune an 300+hp should be easy... but $$$$$$$$$$$$

well im getting head work done too so that plus 15psi will hopefully be over 400hp when im done.
For starters im goin with an ebay kit. couple people on ephatch have had no trouble for over a year with the same kit & its only $679.
After im definitely goin with a precision 60 / 63 maybe.

i worked on a car with that kit, its total ****, i don't wanna be a dick but yeah man.. these turbos commonly come apart on their own.
But if i hear good things about a shitty product, hell sign me up. whats the worst that can happen?
just like that obx LSD. crap company (that seems to be coming up well)
