I recently bought a 96 Delsol S and I was looking for some cat back exhaust but the exhaust selection for this car is sooooo little, so I guess I need to go for a universal muffler and custom pipe, its easy to get a universal muffler but I dont know where can I get the exhaust pipe

Question: which exhaust(i.e. EG EK DC) will or best fit the delsol?

nothing fits. del sol exhaust is an oddball. wellllllll... it's been rumored that EG hatch exhaust fits but i've seen more arguments against this than for it.

i put a 92-00 coupe/sedan apex-i WS2 exhaust on my car and all we had to do was trim like 3" before and after the S bend, and then 5-6" directly before the muffler.

 

can I have some muffler shop to make me a whole stainless steel exhaust less muffler?

I had a muffler shop make me a whole new pipe cause mine was rusted to all heck. Not too expensive either, around $50-80 or so.

 

tsuado or how ever u spell it makes a nice cat back exhaust for a del sol.

I went with a Pacesetter for my old delsol. They're 2.25" diamater. Cost about $250 shipped. As much as people bash on Pacesetters it was a good exhaust for me. Had a quiet tone until you really got into the throttle and even then it was nothing too loud which is just what I wanted. I did cut the chrome tip off and weld on a 2.25" pipe so it would look better.

 

I bought a pace setter cat back for my 98 ex but i cut off the muffler and installed a tsudo can instead. It sounded and performed really well! the pace setter fit perfect and never gave me problems.

What does the resonator do? Is it necessary to pass emision test?

 

The resonator basicly just helps cut out the higher frequency noise. It's just another muffler basicly.

 

resonator cuts down on raspyness.

like he said above, it's basically a muffler.
