Icon2 dx won't drive more than 1mph, please help

I just replaced a mini me swap with a 93 dx motor out of automatic and now the damn thing will not drive...WTF!!?!????!

transmission and clutch were fine earlier in the day before I removed the mini-me from it.

the dx that came out of the automatic car worked fine too. Before pulling it out the night before the mini-me it ran nice and strong.

It will turn on just fine, well at least it did the first couple times now it dies the first time it is started then will stay on untill I put it into a forward moving gear.

reverse work good untill i push the gas slightly harder then it feels like it is going to die.
When I put the car into first gear and try to drive normally the car will instantly try to shut off(sometimes will get stuck in between on and off)

I originally used the firewall mounted map sensor that was on the dx but changed the throttle body and am now using a d16 throttle body and map sensor...no progress

I then changed the iacv just incase because I had just put a new one on the old motor and the one on the dx looked anciet.....still nothing

I have have checed the wires 3-4 times now but have not found anything pluged in the wrong place....but will check it again tomorrow just to be sure

I am very frusturated and cant seem to think of anything else that might be the cause of this. So if anyone can givew me an idea of what to check I would greatly appreciate it.
I need to do this soon because after tomorrow it is supposed to start snowing again.(I have no garage)

The only other thing that I can think of is the fuel line theat goes to the fuel rail.....I am using the one that was in the dx......should I use the dx fuel filter as well and what is the order the washers go on, on the filter and the rail?

the order I have thenm on now is.....washer/ line / washer.....on both filter and rail sides

any help is greatly appreciated

will get videos tomorrow...with phone so not the best quality. just letting you know ahead of time

I made for sure I used the flywheel off my old motor and used the 5 speed flywheel bolts as well.

I have the same question. Have you checked the mechanical timing. The cam and crank may be out of synch from TDC1 by one tooth on the timing belt.

try checking your TPS/MAP sensor.
maybe you have them backwards?
Good luck.

tried the switching the MAP and TPS already still no luck. Tried this a few times, re-setting the ecu each time

Well no I have not checked the timing. I didn't think changing to a manual tranny and putting the motor in a new car would change the timing.....would it?

the motor ran fine on friday night in the old chassis, no problems at all as soon as the pedal was press it would take off......

The symptoms just sound like an engine in which the timing belt skipped a tooth. Might be worth looking into.

Is the CEL ON? Have you tried pulling CEL codes from the ECU?

I get one cel using the manual ecu for the IAT. I plugged it to the purge before and fried that chip in the ecu.

That is the reason why I used the auto ecu to see if that cel would cause the problem (didn't on old motor)

Guess I will have to check timing....never done it before so that is why I am trying to eliminate the possible small things first.

Do you know the order the washers go onto the fuel rail when connecting the fuel line from the filter?

ok so I go out side to if I might have some how messed up the timing while changing the motor but decide to just check to see if maybe I would get lucky and the damn thing would magically work. I am lazy today it didn't.

What is different to day though is that the check engine light is on now (was not on before). I check the cel code and I get code 3, MAP sensor.....so I will once again first switch the MAP and TPS, see if it work then if not put the wall mount sensor on using the bracket that is on the car it came out of and if that doesn't do it then I will have no choice but to quit being lazy and check the timing

problem solved!!!!!!!!!!

Was a wire that broke right next to the connector...... I was unplugging the map sensor and notice one of the wires was moving in different direction then the others so I opened the loom an there was a wire that was ripped....twisted together and car runs fine, will solder later
