Real quick could someone tell me about how much you think a d15b7 weighs without tranny??

Has anyone else shipped one of these engines and knows the exact weight?

D = 100lb short block + oil pan
And I would geuss 10-15 lb head.
so 120lbs would be the max

 

full swap d seires is like 330lbs give or take. trans is bout 60lbs give or take.

these are rough estimates.

and the d-series head complete is def more then 10-15lbs. id say closer to 35lbs.

 

after moving my z6 motor around and my old b7 around by myself today i would say they are around 120 pounds without a trans...the head prolly weighs close to 25 pounds....the trans prolly weighs 75-100 pounds with fluid...

 

I agree with dohcdelsol, the head probably weighs around 35 lbs. I picked up a Z6 head last week, and it definitely felt like 30-35 lbs to me.
