Civic fuel gauge problem?

Civic fuel gauge problem?
Hey fellas,
I recently put an Acura EL gauge cluster in my 2000 Civic hatchback. The gas gauge is reading past full and isn't functioning. The previous cluster in the car didn't have a tach and the fuel gauge worked properly. Any ideas?
Update:
If I reset the gas gauge to empty it goes right back to past full.
