stereo was working fine all these years. i have a pioneer deck in my integra. yesterday, while driving, the sound just suddenly stopped. the deck itself still looks like its working and playing the music though( you can see from the display). just no sound. what can cause this? i know forsure it is not the speakers(i have four). i have no amps or anything hooked up. everything is straight from the deck. any ideas? thanks ahead.

 

check the deck harness maybe the wires wernt crimped right and they popped out.
or maybe the deck finaly quit.

 

Short in speaker or speaker leads has triggered HU protection circuit.

Try this, fade all the way to front or back and balance all the way to the left or right, turn HU off for a few sec. then turn on, if still no sound fade all the way the other way and balance all the way the other way, turn HU off and on again, try all 4 speakers, if you get sound, the speaker that is off, [not playing] is the speaker with the short or shorted out speaker lead, shorted out speaker terminals is a common problem on Honda/Acura when front speakers have been replaced with aftermarket speakers, and yes it could work for years before it becomes a dead short.
As mentioned, pull HU and check wiring, although all 4 speakers disconnecting at the same time is unlikely, any one speaker lead, [pos.(+) or neg.(-)] shorting to ground would trigger protection mode and turn off internal amp. 94
