how to take off gauge cluster plastic

Default how to take off gauge cluster plastic

so yeah, how do i take the plastic cover off from the gauge cluster? haha. it looks like i can pop it off but i just dont wanna crack it. i wanna do it right hte first time. it kinda looks like its glued on? so yeah how do i go about doing this? thanks

i konw what hes talking about. you CAN in fact pop it out but it takes alot of strength... but why would you do that. Pick up a Ef cluster from a 4dr or a hatch. if you want the rpm guage...if thats what you're looking for im assuming...

i tried playing with it with a flathead and i heard a lil pop on the side. i didnt wanan go any further so i stopped ahha. well its a 91 si cluster, i just want to pop the plastic off so i can paint the needles. got kinda bored with it so i wanted to change it up a bit.

i used the heat gun to mealt the glue around it and that it.it will just pop right out....

Take the cluster out and remove the front section. It uses plastic tabs on the top and bottom to hold the two sections together.

The cluster is in two sections, the front section is the clear part and the openings for the gauges, the back section when separated from the front will still hold the gauges and will give you access to the needles and the gauge faces. The circuit board is on the back of the back section and you do nothing to it.

ohh ok. well i think my problem is that the plastic cover is glued to the cluster. haha. so heat gun i guess?

that wont burn up any wires? or the circuit board? or the bulbs?
