So today I go get in my car after class and it just turns over and seems like it is getting zero gas. I checked the spark from my distributer and thats all good, but i'm not getting any humming noise from the fuel pump and I loosened one of the 2 bolts on the fuel filter and got no gas squirtage.

So is my fuel pump out or what else could it be.

go the cheap route and change your fuel filter first there like 10bux if you are forsure not hearing the pump check all your fuses for the pump under the dash theres one for the pump could be one under the hood to not pos

 

also you could have unhooked the return line check the other hose on the filter

 

K well I am going to get a fuel filter...But would the humming come from the silver dome with the wire coming from it? also is the fuel pump under the silver dome in the middle?

 

thats where the hummm will come from but you need to keep in mind it will only hmm for like 1 sec right when you turn the key on then stop

 

check your main relay, that cause the fuel pump to not prime thus your car cranking and not starting

 

Where is the main relay?

Tomorrow I am going to buy a new fuel pump and fuel filter so any suggestions on those?

 

its under the dash on the divers side mounted just above the hood pop switch.

 

K. Well I talked to a guy at my local import shop and he said 9 times out of 10 its just the main relay. Soooo are there anyways to check if my main relay is bad? Also is $65 reasonable for a main relay?

 

junk yard just pocket them or if you want you can pay the dollar theyll charge you but 65 seems alittle high for a new one

 

before u start taking the fuel pump apart.did u check for spark/gas?

 

yes I have spark and my plugs are good..

I think I have narrowed it down to... Main relay, fuel filter or fuel pump.

 

are u gettin fuel?if u are then its not the fuel pump.could be the starter.
