i need to rebuild my tranny and i have dropped the engine and tranny out but not just the tranny and this time i just want the tranny out could i get some ideas to do so and some ideas to get it back in with the tranny ligning up right thanks
lol, what difference does it make?
To remove, jack the oil pan with a floorjack and peice of wood to spread the weight out, take the weight off the mounts and undo them (leave drivers side mount hooked up) then lower the trans side down and remove the bolts. Gravity will help you get it off.
To re-install:
Wiggle and push gently, rotate the casing itself and you'll line it up. The splines are narrow, you shouldn't need to go back and forth more than a couple inches.
Don't forget the

O that should be relaitively easy then. You can take off the tranny /Tbracket mounts and lean the engine so the tranny can slide off I have personally never done it but there are many write ups on it. I have a B16 in my car so When I had to change my clutch I had to drop the engine.
I've done it a few times. Have to jack the car WAY up in the air. Have to disconnect all the associated wiring, hoses, suspension, etc (don't forget the speedo cable). Remove all the tranny bolts. Support the engine on a jack and take off the front mount and the two tranny mounts (side and rear). Lower the jack enough so you can pull the tranny off the engine and clear the frame rails and stuff.
I usually get under the tranny to remove it from the engine. Just benchpress it off and lower it to the ground. I guess you could do it with a jack, but I have no idea how you would keep the tranny on the jack.
It's nice to have a little help with somebody prying the engine and tranny apart with a screwdraiver from the top, but not totally necessary.
Install, I support the engine on a couple large wood blocks and put the tranny under the car and lift it up on the jack. Jack it up into about the right place and carefully work the input shaft into the clutch. Once it's in, slide it all the way on - don't let the tranny hang by the input shaft!!! I did that once on accident and it broke a bearing in the tranny =(
