Alternator or ground wire, possibly ground at thermostat.

sometimes you have just disconnect all your grounds and then reconnect them. make sure you clean the metal where the ground wires make contact.(sand off any paint untill its just metal to metal)

I had the same exact problem with my civic also, it turned out to be were the positive and negative terminals are at the battery happened to get all nasty and rotted out and caused my car to sometimes start right up or not start at all and have nothing work. I would also pay close attention to your charging system to make sure your alternator is giving your battery a full 14.6 toward that battery.

One last thing i would check is your starter is it cranking over really really slow if so it could be the cause of nothing working if all the voltage from the battery is trying to get that starter going i would check all your connections.
