i have a 92 civic hatch that got into an axadent and completly trashed the drivers side door, so i went to the junk yard, got a door and got it painted. I never took the tumbler out of the old door and now its gone, is there anyways to get a key made for the door that i got painted?

if i take the panel off is there a vin someweres in the door i could bring to honda?

take out the assembly and take it to a locksmith. should cost around 10. If you really want to do it right and only have 1 key for both doors and the ignition, take out the assembly for the passenger door which should use the original key and have the locksmith place new tumblers so that they match they original.

might cost more but well worth it in my opinion.

i would rather get a alarm/power locks and not think about the lock. worst case you can always unlock the door on the other side if the battery dies or something.

 

i need some help like this as well i have 1key for the ignition and "had" 1for the doors&trunk but my mean *** ex through that **** in a river..sigh.. so what can i do so that i just have 1key for everything??

 

what 2 lock assemblys are the same? like 1 door and the ignition? best thing to do is take the car to a locksmith and have him deal with it.

to take out the ignition assembly is easy with the key and the door lock assemblies or easy, just remove the door panel(have the window rolled up) and remove the 2 bolts.

after that take the assemblies to the locksmith and have him fix it for you!
