Car door is stuck!!!
Hey, everyone. I have a 92 civic 4 dr, and my rear passengerside door won't open from the inside or the outside. This is my 2nd 4 door and 3rd civic to own it has never happened to me before. How do I get to fixing it. I know it has to be the two rod's. But if you can't get the door open than you can't get the door panel off. Does anyone know how to take the door handle off form the outside or a way to fix this peice, or a website that can help me?

Hmm thats tricky.
Don't have an extra door panel kicking around to put on that one?
You could cut it and open the door but yea, thats only if you got one from your past 3 civics.
Sucks dude

my 91 did that but i got in the back, pulled the handle, and kicked it open. then my door handles on the outside would stick up and the door wouldnt stay shut until i pushed the handle down.
if you take the piece around the rear door handle on the inside off, you should be able to get to the rods.

is your car power door locks
My EX driver door wouldn't open and it was the power solenoid on the latch system that went bad. You can take the door panel off. I got mine off it just took alot of time to be careful with it but it came off.

The interior handle is off already, I took the peice off to look at it and the rod wasn't even connected. Yea it's got power locks but I don't think that matters much. When you move both the handles nothing happens at all. You can tell that neither of the rods are there

Re: (lillthingz)
I don't know if the seats in the 4 drs come out like the 2 drs but on mine i just pullout and up on the bottom seat and it pops out and then the back there is brackets on the side you just unbolt and seats come out. i hope this helps and I'm glad its just the rods on your car. Mine we had a hell of a time with that latch not working

You should be able to get your door panel off with the door closed, its not the easiest because you don't have the room as if it was open but it can be done. Once its open look to see what needs to move in order for the door to open with the interior handle, Normally the interior handle will open the door regardless of if its locked or not. Otherwise see what you need to do to move the lever to the unlocked position. You might have to spray some wd-40 or something in there to free up the mechanism if its jambed up. Once the door is open take it out and make sure nothing is bent and put some grease in there to make sure it doesn't happen again otherwise the lock mechanism for civics is around $85 the sols around $200 a piece.....
