personally its what you like b16s are easier to find parts and match up perfectly wit type-r parts, header & intake mani. and GSR heads have a better combustion chamber helps with flame travel and is less prone to detonation. but for a block i would go with OBD1 usually you can get for cheap and come stock with breather box which helps at high RPMs

If you have an EG6 don't you already have a B16A in the car? Regardless, go with OBD1, since your car is OBD1.

Go GSR, yull have a higher compression ratio!!! and OBD 1 is simpler, but there all pretty much the same so you can't go wrong

Jesus H. Christ.. Doesn't matter if the block is from an OBD1 or OBD2 vehicle, they work the same. Get an OBD2 block, they have the newer oil pumps.

block doesnt matter, run a GSR head though. You will make more power. B16's suck.

I forget the differences and im to lazy to look it up, but theirs a significant difference between the b16a and b18c1 head...

My point is for longevity of the motor you need a b18c1 head.

Yes you need a b18c1 head, im to lazy to look up and explain the differences between the b18c1 and b16a head. If somebody else see's this thread and can explain the differences please do.

it has a smaller combustion chamber. 41.60mm instead of 42.70. running some b16a pistons you should have around 12.5CR. or 11.94 with some ITR pistons. Also i dont know if the b16 heads have VTEC on boths sides. I'm not really a b-series guy.
