short shifters what does everybody think of them?????
in my opinion, I dont use them because of increased risk for misshifts. Maybe thats me. but the feel is so close that I may mess up on the shifting and blow up the motor.
I like the stock feel since I can tell where the the shifter should go.

i dont know when i first got my car i just had the stock shifter on and i put the short shifter on and now i love it , it feels so much better then befor. i can actually drive ok now haha
I have a NS Short shifter in my Accord. I DID NEED ONE and it did shorten the shifts quite a bit. With my old shifter, it almost felt like I was rowing a boat!
BTW..Every Hundreths of a second counts in drag racing, and Less Distance traveled = Less time to get there

i think on street driving, short shifters are good. At the track, when costly transmissions and motors are at risk, you want to make sure you are in gear for sure when you shift that fast.
i've see so many blown motors due to misshifts and I think as far as racing on the track, keep the stock one.

pointless.
why shift faster than the rpm drop.
I find it hard to beleive they are pointless. Why would they made be made?

look if you have a lightweight crank, ultralight racing flywheel. then i understand why you need to shift faster but if your shifting in .2 seconds and it takes .4 seconds for the rpm's to fall your just gonna do damage over time shifting so fast.
ok I'll be quiet... it doesnt make sense because you probably don't have many passes and experience with Drag racing.

I can shift plenty fast with my stock shifter..
I do think cables shift mechanisms (Accord, Prelude) could benefit from a shorter throw. Those things stock feel like truck shifters

then why is APC still around? Thier pointless....

They reduce the shift rang of motion....that is there point. Doesnt mean they improve your cars performance tho.....
oh boy... not this thread again!
Short Shifters do not kill trannies or synchros but the submoron shifting like a riceboy on crack will kill synchros with his mad fast shifting skills. I have been using a C's shifter for 5 years without any problems.
On a side note! I have an extra C's shifter up for grabs. $150 plus shipping! It's an EF style (just like the one in my Teg) so you will need to add spacers on each side of the shifter when used in a EG/DC.
