use rear sway bar with springs??
Well my brother just bought a 93 si. It has tokiko yellows with GC coilovers. Rates are 500 up front and 1000 in rear. The guy threw in all the stock parts along with an aftermarket rear sway bar. Not sure what company. My question is, is it okay to use it or not. I heard not to use it beacause of the spring rate. I am not familiar with sway bars so I dont know what to think. Let me know whats right. If you need to know what company I can check. Thanks.
Not at all. The car rides realy smooth. The guy we bought the car off of auto x's for a living and he set the damperness and said those were the rates. Im just taking his word for it. I asked why the rear sway bar was off and he said cant run it with the spring rate. I dont kno.
All I want to kno is should you run aftermarket rear sways with the suspension. I dont see why not seeing that everyone upgrades their suspension to stiffer aftermarket springs/coilovers and then runs a sway bar, so I dont know why he said you cant run it with the suspension. I wanna take his word cuz hes an auto xer but i want other opinions cuz I have no idea.

I dont know the size. I didnt know that mattered. When it comes to sway bars I dunno anything about them. Not sure what company either. Its turquoise in color, looks almost just like the car. (if that is or isnt a giveaway)

I think that it will come down to trial and error, but my first impression is that the rear spring rate is too high to need an aftermarket sway bar.
Whenever you increase the rear spring rate (given the same front rate), more of the weight transfer during cornering occurs at the rear. Therefore, you're more likely to lose the rear first (oversteer). If this is the case, I don't see the need for the rear sway (which will transfer even more load during cornering). You could do some testing with each setup and see what works best for you.

Thanks but its realy up to my bro if he wants to try. Im just trying to get the facts and opinions to better my knowledge. And to make a decision about using the bar or not. Any other replies would be great thanks.
